5 Milk Varieties in Missouri Recalled Due to Serious Allergy Risk
This would be more than an unwelcome surprise. 5 different varieties of milk in Missouri are now under recall due to the potential of a possible life-threatening allergic reaction for some people.
The Food and Drug Administration just issued this bulletin which recalls 5 different types of milk produced by the same company. It affects Refrigerated Lactaid Milk in the 96 ounce containers which may contain trace amounts of almond that are not listed on any of the 5 milk variety labels.
This is what one of the labels from the affected milk looks like plus it includes the "best by" date you need to look for.
The "best by" dates you need to look for are November 22 through December 5. All of these milks are lactose-free, but there are other variations that you need to understand are affected by this recall.
There's also a calcium-enriched milk from Lactaid that is included in this recall.
Here's the reason for the urgency of this recall as shared by the FDA:
"People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products".
