Medical Marijuana Cultivation Center to be Built in Barry
Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner’s office Monday released a list of firms that have been awarded licenses to serve as cultivation centers and dispensaries for medical marijuana in the state.
Licenses were awarded to one cultivation center and one dispensary in each state police district.
In District 20, the dispensary license goes to Herbal Remedies Dispensaries, LLC of Quincy, while the cultivation center license is awarded to American Cannabis Enterprises Barry, LLC of Homer Glen, which plans to build a cultivation center in Barry.
The medical marijuana business is expected to generate some $36 million dollars in revenue by 2016.
The facility in Barry is expected to bring up to 60 jobs to the Pike County community.
