The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has completed its review of applications for medical marijuana facilities.

Missouri DHSS Friday announced the approval of 192 facilities statewide to handle medical marijuana.

In Northeast Missouri, the application of MO Med Hannibal, LLC was approved, along with a business in Macon and three in Kirksville.

Among the applications that were denied were four in Hannibal, seven in Kirksville and one each in Vandalia, Bowling Green and Palmyra.

Officials say the denials were issued for several reasons, including failure to meet minimum qualification, the results of an analysis for substantial common control, the results of application scoring or application withdrawal.

Successful applicants have been offered a medical marijuana facility certification and given five days to confirm acceptance of that certification.
