A Maywood couple pleads guilty Wednesday in St. Louis to charges that the husband worked while collecting disability payments.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri reports that 45 year old Michael Clow pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit theft of government property, concealment and two counts of making false statements to the Social Security Administration.

Clow’s wife, 51 year old Laura Clow pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit theft of government property.

According to court documents, Michael Clow applied for disability benefits in 1999. From 2002 until 2012, the Clow’s operated a construction business, with Michael doing manual labor. Laura Clow had the business put in her name and told Social Security that Michael was unable to work.

Sentencing for the Clows will take place December 9th.
