Hannibal voters will go to the polls next April to decide how they want their water disinfected.

City Clerk Angel Vance says the issue will be on the General Municipal Election ballot April 4, 2017.

A group of citizens gathered petition signatures this spring and summer, asking the city to stop using chloramines to treat Hannibal’s water.

The city council voted August 2nd not to consider the issue, putting it in the hands of the voters next spring.
