Marion County Deputies Make Arrest on Firearms Charges
An investigation by Marion County Sheriff’s deputies results in one arrest on firearms charges early Friday morning.
Detective Brock Decker reports that deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in progress involving a firearm in the 4700 block of West Ely at 12:48 a.m. Friday.
Witnesses told deputies that 33 year old Michael Agnew had threatened others at that location with a handgun.
A traffic stop a short time later resulted in Agnew’s arrest. A search of his vehicle revealed two stolen handguns.
Agnew was charged with possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a firearm and receiving stolen property.
A white female was also taken into custody but was released without charges being filed.
Agnew is in the Marion County Jail pending the review of charges by the Marion County Prosecutor, and a potential probation violation.
