Kingdom City Motel Offers Free Stays on Christmas

A central Missouri motel manager plans to keep offering free Christmas lodging to certain guests despite the problems caused by a few freeloaders. The Super 8 motel in Kingdom City offers a free stay on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day to people visiting loved ones in places like hospitals, nursing homes and prisons in a half-dozen counties. Manager Scott Meislin says a few guests abused the privilege this year by taking free rooms when they weren't really visiting relatives. But Meislin says a few "bad apples" won't stop the motel from offering the service again.
