Juveniles Suspected in Ralls County Poaching Incident

A poaching report Monday near New London results in charges against juveniles.
Ralls County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Highway M near Lakewood Place.
Deputies found a dead doe with a gunshot wound. A vehicle matching the description given by a witness was stopped by deputies after it traveled past the scene. After speaking with the juvenile occupants, it was found that they unlawfully shot the deer from the roadway. A joint investigation with the Missouri Department of Conservation resulted in charges for taking a deer with the aid of a motor vehicle and taking a deer with the aid of artificial lighting. The matter has been referred to juvenile authorities.
