Joint Effort Tackles Quincy Area Obesity Rate

A combined effort involving the Salvation Army Kroc Center and Quincy Family YMCA takes aim at Adams County’s obesity ranking.
Adams County Taking Initiative on Obesity Now will be a program to encourage… educate and motivate county residents to live a healthier life style. Participants in the program will receive free access to either facility for a ten week period contingent on meeting program requirements. A health and wellness fair to kick off the program is August 25^th. Studies indicate 37 percent of Adams County residents are considered obese. The state average in Illinois is just over 29 percent.
