Missouri has a lot of trails that either have wildflowers along the path, lots of river views or caves. There's one trail in the Show Me State that has all of those things and it's only a short drive from the city of St. Louis.

The trail I'm referring to is Cliff Cave Park near St. Louis, Missouri. It was recently crowned as the "wildflower capital of Missouri" by Only In Your State. They're not wrong.

The real gem of this Missouri hiking trail is the cave it was named after - Cliff Cave.

The St. Louis County Parks website mentions Cliff Cave Park is a 5-mile loop and there are places where bikes are welcome, too. There's a shelter you can reserve and fishing possible from the nearby Mississippi River.

The river views from above are stellar also. There are worse ways to spend your time than hiking this scenic Missouri place. The fact that it's paved makes it accessible and easy to walk for anyone.

If you have a desire for some outside adventure, but don't want to drive half of the day to get there, check out the Cliff Cave Park website for more specifics on what this place has to offer.

The Sad History Of This Long Abandoned Suburban St. Louis Mall

WARNING: Under no circumstances should you enter this property. By doing so you risk bodily harm and/or prosecution for trespassing on private property.

Jamestown Mall in Suburban St. Louis opened in 1973. By the time 2003 hit it was 30 percent vacant. As time marched on the anchors all left, and the mall finally closed its doors on July 1, 2014. After a fire gutted part of the abandoned mall in April of 2023, it will finally be demolished. A study by St. Louis County suggests it be redeveloped as an Ag-Food technology campus.
