
Southern Missouri & Illinois to Get 10 Inches of Snow this Week?
We know for a fact that Missouri and Illinois will get snow this week. We don't know exactly how much yet, but if you combine all of the models together, it appears that parts of southern Missouri and Illinois could get up to 10 inches of snow this week.
Let me emphasize again the uncertainty about the exact track and specific snow amounts this incoming storm will dump on Missouri and Illinois. But, we're now close enough that the models should start to give us a pretty good idea of what's about to happen.
It will begin early Monday morning when light snow starts to spread across Missouri and eventually into Illinois. It is late Tuesday night when the snow will become more significant.
The snow is expected to continue well into Wednesday.
It's the extreme southern third of Missouri and Illinois that appears to be on the receiving end of the most snow. Meteorologist Travis Roberts shared this blend of computer models showing the estimates on how much snow southern Missouri and Illinois can expect.
Some models show more and some show less, but this is an average of how much snow all of the major weather computer models believe southern Missouri and Illinois will get.
By later today or early Monday, you can expect that the National Weather Service will weigh in with an official forecast. That's what you should pay attention to. I'm sharing this now so you can be aware of what's possible.
