See the 1 Error that Makes a 1965 Quarter Worth 9 Thousand Bucks
I was admittedly never good at math, but even I know that a quarter is not worth 9,000 bucks except that I'm technically wrong. There is one error on a 1965 quarter that does make it worth even more than $9,000.
I used to collect coins way back when, but unfortunately gave up the hobby once I got biologically older. Notice that I didn't say "matured". I mention that because I knew from that collecting time that many quarters minted prior to 1964 included 90% silver. In 1965, they mint changed to copper/nickel.
So what makes a 1965 quarter potentially worth over $9,000?
The Coin Guy on TikTok revealed that there were a couple of rounds of quarters minted in 1965 that were still created with the silver planchette.
That means a few rare 1965 quarters are 90% silver and worth big bucks. This one sold at auction last summer for $9,300.
His brief video share on TikTok explains it better than I can write it, so watch.
