I expect this will create a very hot debate. The internet 'experts' are warning that there is one cookie everyone in the state should avoid at all costs, but there's just one teeny tiny problem. It isn't really a cookie.

To be fair to these so-called 'experts', they did bake a lot of methodology into this ranking (cookie pun intended). It's a ranking just shared by 24/7 Wall St of "17 Cookie Brands to Avoid". How did they make this vital cookie decision? They say "we looked at reviews across the spectrum from customers who purchased the products across Amazon, Wal-Mart, and other retail stores. We also checked out some food critics who tried the products." Fair enough.

What is the #1 cookie enemy of every Missourian?

Their answer - Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies

Notice something in the name. Does it say "Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Cookies"? No, it DOES NOT. It's creme "pies", geniuses.

The argument for Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies being cookies is they consist of 2 oatmeal cookies with creme filling in the middle. I would argue that a Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie is much like a Twinkie. Yes, it's a dessert, but NOT A COOKIE. Not once in my life have I said "I'm in the mood for a cookie, so let's eat an oatmeal creme PIE".

For the sake of fairness, let's assume the 'experts' are right and it is a cookie. What's the problem that makes them the #1 cookie for Missouri people to avoid? The critics say they've gotten smaller and don't taste the same as they used to. Frankly, it's been awhile since I've had one, so I'll trust they're describing it right.

They also pick on many Chips Ahoy and Oreos which I don't understand. Those are American classics.

Read their rundown for yourself and see if you agree with their "creme pie is a cookie" conclusion.
