You might need to stock up this year, because at least two Girl Scout flavors are about to be no more.

There are three qualifiers for this warning. First, you need to live in Illinois. Second, you must have a craving for chocolate chip cookies. Third, if you have allergies, know that there's suddenly an urgent recall for a line of chocolate chip cookies that are widely available in Illinois due to a potentially life-threatening issue.

I thought I knew every cookie trick in the book, but I was obviously very wrong. The self-proclaimed world's greatest 3-layer cookie chain has suddenly invaded Missouri and I'm already a big fan.

For once, I am completely on board with something the internet has decided. A national survey of favorite treat brands has resulted in a decision which just so happens to have 20 sweet locations in Missouri and yes, I am a fan.

I expect this will create a very hot debate. The internet 'experts' are warning that there is one cookie everyone in the state should avoid at all costs, but there's just one teeny tiny problem. It isn't really a cookie.

I am currently in denial. I have learned that dozens of popular foods are no longer available in Missouri as they have been discontinued. I thought most of these were very popular and I regularly bought several, but I guess I was terribly wrong. Let's see how many of your favorites are now extinct.

I can tell you from experience that the best awards come from the audience. That's one reason why an award for a Missouri cookie shop means so much. It comes from the readers of USA Today who say one of the best in the country is in the Show Me State.

Girl Scout cookies are going to have a notorious flavor missing from its lineup next year.

Their milk chocolate chip cookies are to die for. If that sounds over-dramatic to you, you probably haven't had one of their cookies. The reason for my excitement is I've just learned they're opening a brand new Illinois location next week and I'm hoping that means there are more to come.
