Illinois Just Got a New Grocery Store in a Very Strange Place

It's not exactly breaking news when a new grocery store opens in Illinois. But, there's a new one that just opened in the Land of Lincoln in a very unique place that got my attention and maybe it will seem peculiar to you also.

I'm used to seeing grocery stores in big open areas. Sometimes that's not possible though, so I suppose I should be so surprised to see this new Aldi's location that just opened its doors in...downtown Belleville, Illinois.

Fox 2 out of St. Louis is reporting that this new Aldi's opened on the east side of Belleville, Illinois.

I'm more than a little confused as the Aldi website shows a new Belleville location at 1805 Carlyle Avenue which looks like this on Google Street View.

Me being confused is not a new thing, so I'll just celebrate with the rest of Belleville, Illinois that they now have another new grocery option from what is one of the most popular brands in the state.
