Hannibal Man to Stand Trial for Allegedly Abusing 3-Month-Old Boy
A Hannibal man accused of abusing his infant son will go to trial.
Marion County Associate Judge John Jackson Monday found there was probable cause for 23-year-old Eugene Melton to be held over for trial.
Hannibal Police say Melton admitted he threw a three-month-old boy across a room, shook him and bit him. The boy suffered a broken leg, bite marks and a brain bleed. He was taken to Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.
Melton is in the Marion County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond. He has an arraignment hearing scheduled for Friday.
