Hannibal Man Sentenced for Criminal Sexual Abuse
A Hannibal man has been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to sexual abuse charges.
In Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday, 52 year old Walter Miller was sentenced to five years in state prison.
As part of a plea deal, Miller pleaded guilty in May to one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Miller is alleged to have had sexual contact with a child between the ages of 13 and 17 in two separate incidents in 2017. He was arrested last August.
Miller had been convicted of sexual abuse in Marion County in 2001, serving five years probation.
Once he finishes his prison time, Miller must serve from three years to the rest of his life in mandatory supervised release.
