Hannibal Man Charged with Animal Abuse
A Hannibal man has been charged with animal abuse in connection with the discovery of a case of animal cruelty at a Hannibal residence.
Marion County Prosecutor David Clayton reports the charging Sunday of 29 year old Nicholas Mitchell with felony animal abuse.
Mitchell had turned himself in to HPD Saturday.
Police were called to the 2900 block of Market Street last week and found a cat that had been shot with an arrow.
Mitchell is in the Marion County Jail on $25,000 bond.
As a result of this incident, Hannibal Police reminds you that if you are unable to care for a pet, you can surrender the animal to the Community Services Officers free of charge to be placed with the Humane Society for adoption.
