Suds…and sludge.. have surfaced on the agenda for tonight’s Hannibal City Council session…

Representatives from the “Game On” sports bar are scheduled to appeal the $500 fine they received for selling liquor to minors twice in 12 months.  The violations occurred during alcohol compliance checks conducted by Hannibal Police.  The establishment is expected to question the fairness of the ordinance, while city administration will urge the council to sustain the City’s actions.

Harold Lain is expected to ask the city to bear the cost of fixing the sewer connection problem at his Grand Avenue home.  The house is currently connected to a storm sewer instead of a sanitary sewer.  City Manager Jeff LaGarce says part of the 2006 Grand Avenue project involved reconstructing improperly connected lines within the construction zone.  LaGarce says Lain’s connection lies outside of the project area; therefore the city is not responsible.

The council will wade into these issues, and more, tonight at 7.
