The Hannibal City Council filled one of two vacancies on the Board of Directors of the Hannibal Board of Public Works Tuesday night.

The council approved the appointment of John Zerbonia to fill an unexpired term through July of 2023.

Zerbonia retired last year after 20 years with the Hannibal Police Department.

There is one more vacancy to fill on the BPW board. John Ortwerth has been recommended to fill the position. The council is expected to act on that recommendation April 21st.

Meanwhile, the council approved a timeline to fill a vacancy on the council.

First Ward Councilman James Goddert announced his resignation in March.
Anyone wishing to fill the position should file a letter of interest with the city clerk by April 27th.
