Hannibal Cavemen End Losing Streak with 5-4 Win Over DuPage
The Hannibal Cavemen ended an eight game losing streak with a 5-4 win over the DuPage Drones Friday night at Clemens Field.
DuPage took a 1-0 lead in the second, but Hannibal tied it in the third on an RBI double by second baseman Joseph Collazo.
The Cavemen took the lead in the fourth on a run driven in by catcher Travis Kostello.
The Drones scored single runs in the fifth and sixth to take a 3-2 lead, but the Cavemen took the lead back in the bottom of the sixth on a run-scoring single by first basemen Ed Reichenbach and a wild pitch.
DuPage tied the game in the seventh, but Hannibal took the lead for good in the eighth on a bases loaded walk to shortstop Collin Luty.
Ryan Furtney relieved Drew Flatford in the ninth and got the save.
