The Hannibal Board of Public Works is going high tech in the next couple of weeks to look for leaks in its water distribution system.

BPW has hired Westrum Leak Detection, Inc. to perform leak detection services for the city.

Westrum uses detection technology to pinpoint leaks without having to resort to digging up water pipes. Listening devices will be used on valves, hydrants and meters throughout the city.

Leak detection will be performed the last two weeks of July and water service for BPW customers will not be affected.
