Hannibal BPW Deals with Bird St. Water Main Break

Hannibal Board of Public Works crews were on the scene of what they describe as a large water main break at midday Thursday.

BPW reported on its Facebook page that the break occurred between Bird and Levering.

Media reports indicate that Bird was closed North Hawkins and Euclid Avenue across from Mark Twain Elementary while repairs were being made.

BPW advised that, due to a good amount of water running downhill, motorists near the site of the break should proceed with caution.

No word yet on whether there will be a boil order issued once the water main break is fixed.
