Ground was broken Thursday morning on the new home for the Hannibal Convention and Visitors Bureau.

CVB has been headquartered on North 3rd Street for many years, at what was the west end of the old Mark Twain Bridge.

With the building of the new bridge, Hannibal’s “front door” has shifted to the north end of Mark Twain Avenue. And, according the CVB Director Gail Bryant, it’s time for an upgrade.

The new Convention and Visitors Bureau offices will feature a visitor’s center and meeting space, along with administrative offices, and will be located just east of the Hannibal Aquatic Center.

Bleigh Construction will be doing the work. They hope to have the new facility done by late summer of 2019.
