In a press release Thursday, it was announced that Gail Bryant will be leaving as head of the CVB to pursue new opportunities.

Bryant has been Tourism Director in Hannibal since July of 2011, coming here after serving in a similar position in Lebanon, Missouri.

Bryant’s local accomplishments during her tenure include overseeing the construction and opening of the new visitor’s center near I-72, along with recognition from the Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce and the Hannibal Arts Council.

Bryant has also been a statewide voice for tourism, serving on the board of directors of the Missouri Association of Convention and Visitors’ Bureaus and the Missouri Travel Alliance.

Bryant's last day on the job is September 24.

Hannibal Mayor James Hark has been impressed with Bryant. “As mayor,” says Hark, “working with Gail has been a pleasure. She was a team player, always willing to go above and beyond to see the city thrive. Her leadership in the Tourism Department has been an asset to Hannibal. We look forward to building on the success she helped bring about and continuing to promote the Hannibal community as a destination for visitors from around the world.”
