Governor Orders Flags Flown at Half Staff for Fallen Officer
Flags at federal and state buildings in all 114 Missouri counties are to be flown at half-staff today.
Governor Eric Greitens issued the order in remembrance of Officer Gary Michael of the Clinton Police Department. Officer Michael was shot to death during a traffic stop last Sunday in Henry County.
A two-day manhunt in western Missouri resulted in the arrest of Ian McCarthy. McCarthy is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. He appeared by video at an arraignment Friday at the Henry County Courthouse. McCarthy entered a not-guilty plea. He is scheduled to be back in court October 20.
