If you earnestly believe you make absolutely the best chicken wings in the entire universe, mark your calendar for Saturday, January 30, 2016. That's the date for the Hannibal Jaycees' annual Wing Ding at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.

The doors open at 11 a.m., with games and the serving of wings beginning at 1 p.m. The wings will be judged, with $1,000 going to the team with the best wings.

The theme for this year's Wing Ding is "50s Wing Hop," and teams are encouraged to dress and decorate their booths to fit the theme. There will also be a prize awarded to the best booth.

The Jaycees will provide the wings, fryers and oil, while you provide the sauce or batter. All cooking must be done on-site. The team entry fee is $75 until December 31. After January 1, the entry fee is $100.

The proceeds from the Wing Ding goes to Landon's Helping Paws, an organization that trains service dogs for special needs children.
