Former St. Mary Hospital to be Demolished

Officials with Blessing Hospital announce they are moving forward with plans to eventually demolish the former St. Mary Hospital at 14th and Broadway.

In a press release, Blessing officials report the last staff members have been moved out of the building, and that work crews will begin the process of decommissioning and securing the building.

Demolition of the building is scheduled to begin this winter.

The former hospital was founded by the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor and was known as St. Mary Hospital for 126 years.
