The former mayor of LaHarpe pleaded guilty to reduced charges and was sentenced Thursday in Hancock County Court.

40 year old Ryan Kienast pleaded guilty to one count of attempted official misconduct, was sentenced to 12 months court supervision, along with paying over a thousand dollars in fines and fees.

Kienast is alleged to have ordered a city employee last year to use a city owned backhoe to move dirt at a residence he owned.

Kienast resigned as mayor in May of last year.
