(HANNIBAL)—Hannibal City Council members pass a first reading of the Hannibal Smoke Free Act.  The ordinance will prohibit smoking in enclosed public places and within three feet of outside entrances… windows and vents. Penalty for violating the ordinance starts at 100 dollars for the first offense with a maximum fine of up to 500 dollars. The proposed ordinance go into effect July First.

Council members also approved the move of Hannibal’s Farmer’s Market to private property at 214 North Main. The city council also signed off on a 134 thousand dollar bid from Bleigh Construction for construction of new restrooms in Riverview Park.
