Central Adams Fire Department crews were called to a residential fire at 1841 E 1600th, about a mile north of Paloma about 4:30 a.m. Monday.

The owners of the home, Frank and Beth Cash, told firefighters they woke up and smelled smoke, went outside and found their attached garage fully engulfed in flames.

The Cash’s, along with their pets, got out of the home safely.

Fire crews were on the scene until about 7 a.m. The garage was a total loss, and there was minimal smoke and water damage to the home.

The state fire marshal’s office was on scene Monday to determine the cause of the fire.
