Federal money is coming for rehabilitation of an area lock and dam.

Illinois Congressman Darin LaHood was among the public officials at the LaGrange Lock and Dam Tuesday to announce that $10-million dollars in federal money will go toward fixing problems with the nearly 90 year old lock.

LaHood said that he hopes this will be the first round in rehabilitation and expansion of locks and dams along the Mississippi River at Canton, Quincy, Saverton and Clarksville.

More than 60 percent of all U.S. grain exports move through the locks and dams along this portion of the river.
