(Quincy) – Quincy Fire officials now say human remains were found at the scene of a fire at 219 Oak Sunday night.

Fire Chief Joe Henning said in a news conference that remains were found as investigators were sifting through the rubble of the site of Salvage Lumber Company. Adams County Coroner Jim Keller says the body is that of an unidentified female.  Investigators have yet to determine the age… race or cause of death for the female.

The fire apparently started in an addition at the rear of the building. Firefighters were called at 8:44 p.m. Sunday and were still on the scene Monday morning.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
