Early Spring? – Tri-State Weather Warming Up, No Snow in Sight
I fear claiming victory too soon, but the extended forecast for the tri-state area makes me wonder if we're about to experience an early spring this year. There is a distinct warming trend with no snow in sight.
Big disclaimer: This is weather we're talking about meaning things can change. The outlook today can change tomorrow. BUT, if you look at the forecast for the next 7 days, it's hard not to be optimistic that the warm weather is here to stay. This is the National Weather Service in St. Louis 7 day forecast for Hannibal as an example.
The Weather Channel seems to agree. Their 10-day forecast shows highs in the 60's pretty much all this next week with only a brief dip into the 40's the following week.
It's worth noting that neither the NWS or Weather Channel has any snow in the forecast through mid-March. You can't see it, but I'm doing the happy dance right now.
There's an old saying that if March comes in like a lamb, it will go out like a lion. If that proves true, we could still be in for a winter weather whooping at the end of the month. However, based on what we can see right now, the weather sure will look and feel like an early spring.
