I will be the first to tell someone that being at the game is ten times better than watching it on TV...except for NFL Football. If you have never been to a game in person, one of the first things you will notice is the amount of game stoppages due to all the TV timeouts used for commercials.

If you were home watching the game, you would get up and get another drink or something to eat and be back without missing a play. But if you are sitting in the stadium it seems like an eternity between plays at times. The game drags on in person and in many ways it takes away from the momentum of one team or the other.

This all leads me to a statistic I saw in The Week Magazine (July 26th) that indicated in a recent Wall Street Journal edition that an average time to play a football game (approximately 3 hours) contains only 11 minutes of action time. You were surprised, weren't you? So was I.
