The Missouri Department of Conservation released the results of the late youth portion of the 2017 deer hunting season that took place last Friday through Sunday.

A total of 3,056 deer were harvested by hunters from six to 15 years old last weekend. That’s a little over a hundred more than were bagged a year ago.

The leading counties for the late youth deer hunt were Franklin County with 76, Douglas County with 71 and Howell County with 69, followed closely by Pike County, where the young hunters bagged 64 deer.

Next for Missouri deer hunters is the anterless portion of the firearms season December 1st through the 3rd.
