Customers Gently Calm Down Scared Deer in Missouri Dollar General
If you were in Dollar General running errands, could you suddenly become a deer whisperer? That's what some Missouri shoppers had to do recently as they had to calm down a frightened deer in their local Dollar General and convince her to safely exit the store.
Credit to these Missouri folks for some quick thinking. I've seen too many deer who panic when they realized they're trapped in an area with humans and end up jumping through windows and injuring themselves seriously. In this case, all's well that ends well.
Based on the video description, this happened in the Dollar General in Ellsinore, Missouri. I saw the story shared on Yahoo News and they indicate the woman who coaxed the deer out of the store was Cynthia Gallagher. She and others in the aisles were able to use calm voices to keep the deer from harming herself. Ellsinore is located in southern Missouri even south of St. Louis.
A few weeks ago, we shared the sad story of a deer who became trapped in an Illinois home, panicked and did over $35,000 in damage and suffered likely life-threatening injuries.
Well done, Missouri Dollar General shoppers. You helped a frightened animal find her way back to the outdoors where hopefully she was able to return to the woods to do deer things.
