Culver Stockton Nails Down an NAIA Tournament Berth [Audio]
For the first time since 1959, the Culver Stockton Wildcats are headed for the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City.
A 78-62 win over Central Methodist Monday nailed down the #2 seed in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament. The win also assures a place in the country's oldest post season basketball tournament beginning on March 13.
Austin Keaton led the scoring with 25 points. Marshawn Norris added 20 points and 9 assists.
The win came on "Silent Night" at Charles Fieldhouse. The full house agreed to stay quiet until Culver Stockton's 10th point. That came on a tomahawk dunk by James Johnson. The crowd exploded with noise and stayed loud for the rest of the night.
