ST. LOUIS (AP) - Michael Wacha  pitched into the seventh and combined with four relievers on a five-hitter as the St. Louis Cardinals blanked the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-0 to take a 2-0 lead in the National League Championship Series.

David Freese  doubled in the fifth and came around to score the game's lone run on Jon Jay's sacrifice fly. Clayton Kershaw gave up just two hits and an unearned run for the Dodgers, who haven't scored in 19 straight innings.

BOSTON (AP) - Anibal  Sanchez combined with four relievers on a one-hitter as the Detroit Tigers downed the Boston Red Sox 1-0 in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. The Tigers were within two outs of tossing the third no-hitter in postseason history until Daniel Nava singled in the bottom of the ninth. Jhonny Peralta  had three of the Tigers' nine hits, including an RBI single in the sixth for the game's lone run.

(AP) - Receiver Bud Sasser threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to L'Damian Washington in the fourth quarter after quarterback James Franklin left with a shoulder injury and Number 25 Missouri held off 7th ranked Georgia's comeback attempt to upset the Bulldogs 41-26 yesterday. James Ponder's interception of Aaron Murray's pass with 4:25 remaining set up Henry Josey's 7-yard touchdown run to end Georgia's hopes.
