Camp Point Mayor Jerry Gunn Dies

The mayor of Camp Point, Illinois has died.

The Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point announced the death of Jerry Gunn Wednesday in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Officials in Camp Point say the village trustees will meet and declare a vacancy in the mayor’s position. Then, an interim mayor will be appointed to serve until the next municipal election.

Funeral services for Camp Point Mayor Jerry Gunn are 10 a.m. Monday in St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camp Point, with visitation from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.
