Bowling Green Man Faces Kidnapping and Assault Charges

A Bowling Green man is accused of threatening to kill a woman in front of their three children while holding her hostage for almost a week.

33-year-old John Erin Green is charged with kidnapping, domestic assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities say the victim told them that Green allegedly held her against her will from February 17 to February 23 at a residence on South 16th Street in Bowling Green.

She also accused the suspect of repeatedly hitting her and threatening her life by pointing a gun at her. Police said the woman told them she was unable to send a message for help because the suspect took her cell phone and disabled a computer.

Authorities report finding what they say is meth in a bedroom of the home. Green has a court hearing March 5.
