Security camera video raises concerns about people trespassing on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad bridge over the Mississippi River at Quincy.

No tresspassing signs are now posted on the west side of Quinsippi Island where people have been seen entering railroad property illegally. Chip Pew is an Illinois Commerce Commission Rail Safety specialist and state coordinator for the Operation Livesaver rail safety education.  He says they're taking a proactive approach with the signage and quick response by railroad police and local police when trespassers are detected on or near the bridge or railroad property.  Railroad related deaths and injuries totaled 23 deaths and 18 injuries in 2015--down from 27 fatalities and 19 injuries in 2014.
