Long time Cardinal player, coach and manager Red Schoendienst died Wednesday at the age of 95.Current manager Mike Matheny talked about Red after last night's game. He said; "We are always fortunate to meet some of the legends of the game, but to actually get to know one of 'em like Red made himself accessible to know. He made a lasting imprint on how to communicate what it looks like to be a Cardinal."   Schoendienst spent 76 years in professional baseball. 67 of those years were with the Cardinals.  Schoendienst was elected to baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1989.  Schoendienst managed the Cardinals from 1965 through 1976. He first signed after a tryout camp in 1942.
