It is halftime of the Governor's Cup preseason game in St. Louis between the Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs. Rams 17 Chiefs 10. Noteable in the first half....

Rams offense looked good when Sam Bradford and Stephen Jackson are on the field and with the first unit offensive line. They dropped a quick four play 80 yard drive on the Chiefs on the opening possession.

A lost fumble by Chiefs WR Jon Baldwin set Bradford and the Rams up on a short field and they cashed in to lead 14-0.

KC sputtered early before hammering out a 10 play, 80  yard drive capped by a one yard run by Peyton Hillis. Matt Cassel also ran a nice hurry up offense to set up a Ryan Succop field goal with three seconds remaining in the half.

The Chiefs defense looked flat early. When they settled in, they were a bit more disruptive. It would appear that Anthony Toribio and first round pick Dontari Poe can both handle the job at nose. By all accounts, Poe has some learning to do, but he was able to get a good push through the center on a couple passing downs.

Former Chief Barry Richardson started at tackle instead Jason Smith. Smith appeared to have difficulties at times during his plays although the Chiefs front 7 is pretty stout and he was working against their first unit.

Former Missouri Tiger Tim Barnes got a couple series at center. He appeared to handle Toribio and Poe a bit better than tonight's starter Robert Turner.

As always, lots of Chiefs fans in town.

More to come after I digest what I'm seeing.
