A plea is expected today in the case of a Louisiana woman who allegedly left her two-year-old son to wander alone in a creek on a cold day. Kristian Riley is charged with two felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say they got a report of the boy wandering naked in a creek near his home in the 200 block of North Sixth Street on March 18 of last year. An officer reported the temperature at the time was 46 degrees with a 14 mile-per-hour wind.

Authorities also reported finding feces on the boy’s clothing and toys inside the house in addition to trash and a smell of urine. Riley originally pleaded not guilty at a hearing in June.
