Meals on Wheels is holding a Cook’s Night Off event on the third Thursday of the month throughout 2019. It’s a fundraiser for the Meals on Wheels program as they offer eat-in, carry-out, or drive thru meals for just $7 each. All meals include either Fried Chicken or Roast Beef, two side dishes, bread and dessert. The hours for each 3rd Thursday of each month are 4 to 6pm at the Senior Center at 639 York Street.

The 29th Annual Great River Watercolor Society Exhibition Opening reception will be held at the Gray Gallery at the Brenner Library on the campus of Quincy University on Friday, January 18th. The ceremony will be from 4 to 6 pm with the exhibition going thru February 5th.

The Gem City Kiwanis Breakfast will be held on Saturday, January 19th at Applebee’s in Quincy. The menu includes pancakes, bacon, and your choice of coffee, juice, or water for only $5! Tickets can be purchased from a Gem City "Breakfast" Kiwanis member or at the door the day of the event. Proceeds go to grants that fund programs for children in the community.

The Hannibal Jaycee’s will be holding their annual Wing Ding event at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center (Armory) on Saturday, January 26th. The event runs from 11a to 8p.

The Great River Eagle Days winter gathering will take place at the Oakley Lindsay Center on Saturday, January 26th and Sunday, January 27th. Saturday’s hours are 10a to 5p and Sunday from 10:30a to 4p with the traditional Native American Bald Eagle Blessing taking place at Sunday at 10:30a.

Cornerstone’s annual “Dancing With The Local Stars” will be held on Friday, February 1st at the Ambiance in Quincy. The evening begins with a social hour at 6 followed by dinner at 7 and the dancing competition after that. The night will also feature the presentation of the Humanitarian Award to Ann Miller Titus. The Loraine Lions Club will be holding a Crossroad Country Opry at the Unity High School on Saturday, February 2nd. The show begins at 7pm. Tickets are $7.50 in advance, $8 at the door. For more information, call Johnny Anderson at 242-0972.

Arts Quincy will be holding their Follow Your Heart Brunch fundraiser benefiting the programs of the Quincy Society of Fine Arts. Tickets are $40 and include food, beverages, live entertainment and a photo booth. Attendees can place bids in a silent auction, a raffle and other features that will be happening.
