Yes, You Really Could Have Your Very Own Retired Iowa Ambulance
Could I interest you in a used ambulance? It's not mine, but was a working vehicle in Iowa for many years. It's now available as part of an auction.
The Lee County Iowa Sheriff's Office shared this beauty on Facebook this past week announcing that it will be sold through an auction.
In case you're having a hard time reading the small print, I'll summarize it for you. This bad boy will be sold through a sealed auction with a reserve of $1,000, so you're not getting it for $999 in case you were thinking of trying. The Lee County Sheriff's Office also mentioned that if you want to see it "you can make an appointment to view it anytime Monday-Friday 8am-4pm by calling 319-372-1152 and speaking with either Amy or Lisa in the Civil Dept".
If you're wondering "what would I possibly do with a used ambulance?", there's a website dedicated to your question. It's called Used Ambulances with some nice ideas about conversions. Apparently there are a lot of people who enjoy turning old ambulances into 4 x 4's. Go figure.
According to the Facebook post, this retired Lee County, Iowa ambulance will be sold August 2. That means you've got a couple weeks to arrange a time to check it out and maybe drop a bid on your future dream vehicle.
