Two Illinois colleges will share in a $29 million federal grant to retrain unemployed workers for high-skill jobs in transportation, distribution and logistics.
The Adams County Health Department will once again be offering flu shots. Flu vaccines are available during regular Immunization Clinic hours which are Mondays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The flu shots will also be available Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 2013 Election to decide the next Mayor for the City of Quincy is underway. The polls opened this morning at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 7 p.m. Incumbent Democratic Mayor John Spring, looking for a third term as Mayor, is being challenged by Third Ward Republican councilman Kyle Moore.
The Marion Gardner Jackson Charitable Trust recently awarded $23,500 to the John Wood Community College Foundation to construct a community concession and restroom facility for the College’s outdoor sports field complex on the Quincy campus.
The Adams County Health Department will be holding a drive through Flu Immunization Clinic this Sunday at John Wood Community College from 11am to 2pm for adults and a walk in clinic for children only.
