Having had two Labrador Retrievers in our family over the years, it pains me to share something like this. Volunteers in Missouri just rescued 97 of these precious animals from what is being described as 'horrific' conditions.

This might be the best thing you see today or week or maybe this month. It's a supercut of dogs at an Illinois shelter at the moment they realized they were adopted and it's a bundle of pure joy.

The Missouri Humane Society Animal Cruelty Task Force raided an unlicensed breeder this week and the result is 19 dogs that now need new homes after mistreatment.

If you have a heart for animals, there is one place in Missouri you really need to know about. It's a rescue ranch that has horses, pigs, ducks and other animals that you can potentially adopt.

There are two sad facts to pass along. #1. Missouri is the worst state in America when it comes to puppy mills. #2. This is absolutely not a new problem.
