When I was a kid, I remember seeing Long John Silver restaurants everywhere. Now, not nearly as much. That sparked my curiosity about how many still remain open in Missouri. I was surprised that the number appears to be dwindling.

Large fish dies are not unprecedented, but no one knows right now why thousands of fish in a Missouri lake just suddenly expired without any warning that something was wrong.

Well, it's happened yet again. An invasive fish that has been called a 'river monster' because of what it can do to native fish in Missouri has been found in the Show Me State again and this time in a completely different area. This fish can even survive slithering on land.

What would you consider a whopper? I'm guessing by just about anyone's measure this would qualify. A man in Illinois just landed a humongous 109-pound big-head carp and it's real not a fish story.

It's larger than the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and it's full of fish. Lots and lots of fish. It's been named the best aquarium in America 4 times and it's in Missouri. Oh, and it lets you swim with sharks - really.

I'm suspicious of this result not because I doubt the winner doesn't make great food. I'm confident they do. However, does the best fish sandwich in Missouri really come from a steakhouse? The internet says yes.
